We started out serving mechanical solar contractors in the solar industry — so the “Sun” part made perfect sense. But the “Wolf”? That came later.

About a month into working from our current shop, we were in the middle of a fabrication job when a wild-looking dog, likely a wolf/Shepherd hybrid, strolled right through the bay doors like he owned the place. He sniffed around the shop, stole a work glove, buried it in the yard, drank the water we offered him, and then sauntered off. We never saw him again.

It felt like a sign — the kind of thing you’d make a myth out of. And in a way, we did.

In Norse mythology, the sun (Sól) is forever chased across the sky by a hungry wolf named Sköll. When Sköll finally catches her, the world resets and begins anew. With the owner’s Scandinavian and Sámi roots, Sun Wolf became our own symbol: of chasing down tough challenges, rebuilding what’s broken, and being ready for whatever comes next.
